Cooking Up a Storm in San Francisco

Last night, our Tauck Tour visited a commercial restaurant kitchen to cook up a storm. Well, actually it was a bonding exercise to get to know each other and it was a lot of fun.






At the end of it, we got to eat everything we cooked. It was a great experience and we did get to know our American travelling companions a little better. 'Y'all come back now, hear...'

  1. Quite a novel approach as a get to know each other. The lady in the first picture! Either that is the first kitchen she has seen or she is about to do mischief with that knife! I hope you were at the other end of the room.

    1. Yes, I was. All the people there had a lot of fun preparing and cooking the food and eating it. Tonight, Diane and i went to a 2-Michelin Star Italian restaurant in Washington Street. The presentation was a little pretentious, i thought. The pasta was overcooked and salty but after the meal, we had the best cup of tea since we arrived in the USA.

    Why didn't you go to Fishermans wharf? The seafood served there is briliant. Great to know that you were well away from that potential knife lady. The funniest of funny photos. Lets hope the lady concerned NEVER sees this photo - ha ha. Otherwise you just might get a taste of that knife.

We did go to Fishermans Wharf with the intention to have lunch there yesterday, but in the morning they took us to a private food tasting tour at the Ferry Building and we were full by lunch time, so we visited the Mechanical Museum at Fishermans Wharf. But we did eat there on our first visit in 1970.

  3. This and the wine train are two unusual but really good tours in my opinion, Bill. What were the companions: mostly american or were they mainly tourists?
