More pictures of the Victorian Tragedy

I was going to post something other than the tragic fires ravaging the state of Victoria today but more pictures were published in the newspapers today which might be interesting to my overseas friends.

The death toll now stands at 150 with still a lot of people unaccounted for. No doubt this was the worst bush fire episode in the history of Australia. Scientists warn that with global warming we can expect more of these fires to happen in the future.

Ironically in the north, rain keeps falling and still many areas remain flooded.

Hopefully this will be the last post relating to these terrible fires. If you have a sweet tooth, or love pastry products, you'll enjoy my next blog post. Until then keep the poor people of the infected areas in your mind.

  1. I cannot ever imagine anything more horrific- a fire storm that one cannot escape from. I will continue to pray for the people who have lost so much - and for the animals and of course the land.

Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed.

  2. An unbelievable tragedy. We are so lucky not to be near there.

  3. Bill, this tragedy is seeping into everything - a sadness seems to be settling over everything. I know it's made me feel so grateful for my family, my home, my life.

    Cheeriness will be welcomed!
