Yosemite National Park, one of the first wilderness parks in the United States, is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.

A very impressive photo and I love how you have caught the double rainbow. I visited Yosemite over 30 years ago and this brings back great memories as a relatively new mother when we took our son to see the park. He was about a year old and we were living in Long Beach at the time. Happy traveling!

ReplyDeleteBill, we were in Yosemite in late 2009. Actually saw a brown bear loping along ... not a fully grown one but an adolescent. A wild, brown bear nevertheless.
The beautiful old 1927 hotel, the Ahwahnee Lodge of 99 rooms, is there, as well as the spectacular rock formations --- I recall the Half-Dome as one of the most outstanding.
Prez Teddy Roosevelt had a lot to do with the establishment of the Yosemite National Park.
