You know what they say: There's no fool, like an old fool!
We don't usually celebrate Swiss National Day, but yesterday we went with a group of friends for lunch at the Des Alpes Swiss Restaurant in Mitchelton. But before, I took my alphorn down from the wall and tried to belt out a tune. Not having done so for many years, I can tell you I'm rusty.
Cheers,
BB
Good God!!!! What did the neighbours think or were they warned? Poor William Tell, not to mention dear little Heidi, are probably spinning in their graves.
ReplyDeleteOh! on second thoughts you can bring that alphorn over here and scare the living daylights out of the darn crows! That should get rid of the whole colony of the noisy so & sos.
Keep practicing.

Encore! I thought that was great.
ReplyDeleteNo Fool, like an old fool! Thanks for your comments.
ReplyDeleteI could do with one of those on Darwin's "cracker Night" July 1st and the entire city goes crazy with the one day of the year it's legal to buy and set of crackers. Hell for animals and small children. The alphorn would be a nice revenge....
ReplyDeleteBravo! It's great that you can still get a tune out of the old alphorn! Nice tone too, warm and mellow. Tomorrow you should play revally (sp) on the trumpet at dawn...

Thanks for visiting. Yes, you might have trouble getting that Alphorn along on your Kimberly trip, though it would be a surreal thing to play in that gorgeous, wild county......
ReplyDeleteAh that's clever.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I am IMPRESSED! VERY IMPRESSED! What a neat talent! And a neat horn.
